Summer Part 3: Bangkok

I hope you haven't gotten tired reading my summer blog series because I still have one more after this! Out of all the places I've been to this summer, Bangkok is my personal favorite. I love everything about it except the crazy traffic! I thought Indonesia and Philippines were already bad, but Bangkok was worse! But it was okay, I can live with that as long as I'm not the one driving. Teehee!

Orchid from Thai Airways
Right before landing. Bad quality. It was too foggy. T___T
View from my hotel room

Before leaving the BKK airport, I bought a Thai sim card so I can use my phone(tweet, facebook, etc). We got to our hotel room late in the afternoon. Walked around the city for a bit and then we had dinner.

The next day, we signed up for a quick tour. We went to some temples and saw some buddhas. I loved the structures!

No footwear allowed inside the temples.
Marble Temple
Golden Buddha

You have to make a wish and try to shoot your coin in that big bowl thingy. If it goes inside, it will come true. After that, you have to ring the bells on the side. :)

I really thought this wax statue was real!

Reclining Buddha - sooooo big!

Mother of Pearl

My  mom wanted to buy jewelries so we went to some jewelry stores. Look at this pretty amethyst!

That night, we went to Baiyoke Sky Hotel, the tallest hotel in Bangkok, with my dad's friends. Loved the view and the revolving roof deck!

Hey Soldier!

Our third day was spent by shopping at Platinum Shopping Mall. I swear, it reminds me of Greenhills Shopping Center in the Philippines! I thought HK had good deals, Bangkok had better ones! I wanted to get almost everything in that mall. Haha.

When I was taking pictures at the food court, a security guard approached me and said taking pictures isn't allowed in the mall. Bummer. Actually, a lot of places in HK and Bangkok have that rule.
We had dinner here.

Caramel Frappe
We went to Jatuchak Weekend Market since it was a Saturday! And oh my goodness, it was crazy! It's like a swap meet kind of thing but more like tiangge in the Philippines. Crazy good deals! Most of the things we got were house decors and pasalubongs. It was a fun experience! Also, I like how you can bargain. Hoho.

I got so drained after shopping. We went back to the hotel to rest for a while then went to a mall. Dinner time, we were at our hotel. We were all too tired so we ordered Mcdo. Good thing I got their number. Haha!

Night time, we went to dinner at Banana Leaf. I loved the food especially the fresh coconut! :D

The next day was our last day. We had to get up really early for our 8AM flight. Here's a snapshot of Bangkok's Airport.

I'd love to go back to Bangkok. Hopefully, soon!
